What to do with your Chuppah glass shards?

Updated: Apr 7, 2022

Wondering what you can do with the broken glass from the Chuppah?

You have just experienced the most beautiful moment of your life with all the people you love and who love you and you feel that this day is already a memory, and you would like to be able to keep a little piece with you in your everyday life to remind you of it every moment.

What do we keep from a Jewish wedding?

We keep the wedding decorations, the bride's dress and veil and the fragments of broken glass from the Chuppah.

The wedding decorations:

We have certain wedding decorations, which we often give to our guests, such as the flowers placed in the middle of the table and the candles. Unfortunately, the flowers fade and the candles are not customizable and blend in with the decor of the house.

The bride's dress:

It is beautiful, it is the one that made us dream, it is the one that made us the princess of this so beautiful and so meaningful day but very often this one will be put away, well protected and hung in the dressing room, it will remain the most cherished garment of our wardrobe but will not constitute a keepsake to contemplate every day.

The veil of the bride :

It is an element carrying a great emotion which could be used as a wedding souvenir as long as we agree to cut a piece of it. I will come back to this later in this article.

The shards of the broken glass of the Chuppah:

They are the most appropriate elements of the wedding to use as a keepsake of the most beautiful day of our lives.

This glass alone carries great significance at a Jewish wedding. When the groom breaks it with his foot, all the guests shout "Mazal tov" and at that moment, the music starts and each guest comes to congratulate the couple who just got married. This event marks the end of the religious ceremony under the Chuppa.

What can we do with the broken glass shards from the Chuppah?

Many brides and grooms keep the fragments in a pouch stored in the closet as a souvenir, but the bride and groom have lost the opportunity to contemplate them and make a keepsake for every day.

The ideal is to use the shards of the broken glass of the Chuppah in an artwork framed to hang on the wall, a hamsa, or a mezuza.

That's why I developed a collection with different designs to meet this need. To remember every day how much we love each other and to remember this wonderful day.

Going back to the idea of using a part of the bride's veil, I propose in my designs to use a part of the bride's veil and to use it as a background as in this artwork framed.

Amazing Jewish wedding personalized gift

Very often, this keepsake is offered as a gift by the bride and groom's family and friends, but as often, it is the bride and groom themselves who buy this emotional gift for themselves.
